Founded in September 1953, Hamamatsu is located in Shizuoka and has a number of factories and research centers in Japan. Starting out as a phototube, the company has subsequently pursued the possibilities of light, and has continued to develop various new technologies in the fields of optical measurement, healthcare, optical materials, energy, and space exploration.
